Doha to Dubai is one of the Gulf's most over-served corridors, which is precisely why a light jet earns its place here. The block time runs around 55 to 65 minutes, and on a Phenom 300 or Citation CJ4 the flight is too short to justify anything heavier. Most departures stage from Qatar Executive's FBO at Hamad International, where customs and immigration clear inside the terminal rather than at the apron, so the practical bottleneck is rarely the aircraft. It is the slot and the ground handling on either end.

In Dubai, the question is which field. Al Maktoum (OMDW) at Dubai World Central remains the default for private movements, with shorter taxi times and a calmer ramp, though clients with business in Deira or along Sheikh Zayed Road often request Dubai International (OMDB) and accept the heavier traffic and tighter slot windows that come with it. OMDB enforces no overnight curfew, but peak-hour arrivals into a hub handling commercial widebodies mean a light jet can sit in sequence longer than it spent airborne. We plan positioning accordingly, and when the schedule is tight we will recommend DWC and a car rather than fight the queue into OMDB.

The economics favor restraint. A light jet on this leg avoids the repositioning costs that make larger cabins disproportionately expensive over so little distance, and same-day turns are realistic when the aircraft is already in the region. GCC nationals and residents clear quickly at both ends, and the short sector means catering is light and fuel uplift modest, both of which keep the quote honest. If the trip is two or three passengers with hand luggage, this is the right category.
