The detour costs little against the comfort of stand-up cabin time, and a well-positioned stop keeps total block time inside a working day rather than stretching it across two.

Departure out of Sydney is usually cleaner than arrival into Tokyo. YSSY runs a strict noise-related curfew between 11pm and 6am, so a late evening slot will push you to the following morning. Sydney Jet Base and the general aviation FBOs handle outbound customs and Australian biosecurity efficiently when manifests and catering are filed the day prior. The longer pole is the slot and parking picture at Haneda. RJTT is slot-controlled and chronically tight on business aviation stands, so Tokyo handling needs to be confirmed weeks out, not days. Narita remains the fallback when Haneda parking cannot be secured, at the cost of a longer ground transfer into the city.

Allow for the practical edges. Crew duty limits on a one-stop sector mean the rest at the tech stop is real, not nominal, and a heavy aircraft off a short runway may trade payload for fuel.
